I must agree that the problem is with the trolls. If you provide well thought out answers to questioners, it offends the stupid people who answer with garbage answers.
than try to provide a correct answer, they will follow around the people who do and thumbs down their answers, or vote against the answers (using their multiple accounts to cheat), or otherwise try to disrupt the answers product.
