The reason why you can't use the LG VX8350 with T-Mobile (or at&t) is because it's a CDMA phone. (Verizon Wireless and Sprint are the large CDMA carriers in the US). T-Mobile and at&t use GSM (the SIM Card). Any unlocked GSM phone will work with T-Mobile and at&t.
